To all of my insecurities, I bid you farewell.
Though you say it isn’t fair? Well...
For nine years you kept me imprisoned,
Controlled my every move,
While the other kids were playing,
I was alone, crying in my room.
You made me believe that I wasn’t enough,
But I was a diamond beneath all the coal dust.
You spoon fed me lies and I ate them whole,
Gave up on my dreams, abandoned my goals.
So it is time for you to go, Long over due.
Vacancy expected, leave every room.
And one final time I will pick up this knife,
To sever our ties and take back my life.
