An idiom which I can’t endorse:
‘Don’t put the cart before the horse’
for what this overlooks of course
is that I do not own a horse
and on my cart there are no wheels
as close inspection soon reveals
and even if this wasn’t so
the road down which I seek to go
is closed all access now denied
so tell me why I’m not surprised.
