The Letter in Your Picture

I put your picture in a frame last night...

Then dozed until morning light...

Been 4 months since I had to let you go...

It sits by me where I write, you turn away as to show...

Your constant defiance that was never understood...

Nor was your sorrow in your mood...

That hint of a smile will forever sustain me...

Of a time where our Sundays together where is forever where we wanted to be...

It\'s so cold where you live now...

And I wonder how...

That love can make one laugh and cry at the same time...

When to walk away was needed to survive...

2 letters sent since...

No replies as it has always been...

The damage inside you that you would never share...

As you would cry softly in the night holding your bear...

The arms shredded when you teethed...

Do you still cry where you are now?

Alone in the woods, where tress darken like clouds...

I know its safe where you are, not tempted by what scarred your heart...

400 miles is not that far apart...

I\'ll come if you want, and will try to start...

Lives start anew, for me and you...

We deserve that, is that not so?

This letter is long enough, I\'ll go...

When I turn your picture to the right, you\'re coming not going...

And your tiny smile is even brighter...

I think it will stay that way...

Until the letter comes to tell me...

You are on your way...
