(\'May the mind of Christ my Saviour\')

John 1 v.35-42. For St Andrew\'s Day - Nov.30th

**********

* Alacritous = from alacrity: briskness;

cheerful readiness.

-------------

John Baptist saw Jesus one day

To two disciples (of John) did say

Behold the Lamb of God, there see

Jesus Christ He be

Jesus said to them, What seek you?

They said, Master, may we view

Where you dwell? He said, Come and see

They followed freely

They stayed that day at His abode

Seed of the gospel was sowed

One disciple, his name Andrew

Found his brother too

It be Simon Peter, then he

Brought him unto Jesus, see

Said, We the Messiah have found

His voice a glad sound

Messiah, Christ, Anointed One

Of the Father He the Son

When Jesus did Simon there see

He spoke graciously

Saying, You are Simon the son

Of Jona, e\'en the same one

You shall be called Cephas, a stone

As Peter he known

Lord give us in our day grace to

So witness as did Andrew

Bringing brothers, sisters to you

As Saviour to view
