Behold, the LORD, His messenger
He shall send, so hearts stir
John Baptist, he shall prepare way
For the Christ in His day
He shall come to his temple swift
Then hearts rejoice, uplift
But who may the Christ\'s coming bear?
For He shall sure judge there
He does bring the new covenant
God\'s promise, testament
He shall sit, refine, as cleaner
To make all right and fair
Shall refine and shall purify
And His salvation nigh
Brings forgiveness, that people be
An offering pleasingly
A people to the LORD offered
His grace on them conferred
Come search our hearts, O Christ, may we
Serve you acceptably
