Luke 2 v.8-14

Shepherds in field there abiding
Message angel did bring
As they watched o\'er their flock by night
They saw heavenly sight
Angel shone on them, glory
Of the Lord they did see
They greatly feared, but comfort\'s word
From angel then they heard
Fear not, said angel, for, behold
Good tidings to you told
News of great joy to all people
Pray hear my voice, my call
For to you is born this day
A Saviour, so I say
In the city of David*, He (*Bethelehem)
Appears, the Christ-child, see
And this shall be to you a sign
The babe human, divine
You shall find wrapped in swaddling clothes
Humility He knows
Not resting a palace grand
But here now understand
He lays in a manger, food toruhg
Of cattle, it enough
Suddenly, with angel a host
Made their praises, their boast
A multitude, all heaven sings
Sky with melody rings
Saying, Glory to God on high
Yet now to us He nigh
On earth peace, and good will unto
All people, go, Him view
