Street Talk

If the streets would talk

What exactly would they say?

Would they tell me of our adventures together?

Would it tell me of my time without you?

Would it tell me the stories of when you\'d giggle and skip down the street

Or the stories of when I hung my head as the leaves fell down

Would it remind me of the warm feeling I had as you hugged me goodbye

Of would it remind me of the empty feeling I had when you were no longer there

What would the streets tell me?

Would it tell me your darkest secrets

You revealed to it in your silence

Or tell me the secrets I revealed to it in silence

What can the streets help me remember?

Our school walks home

Our night time walks

Your goofy humour

And awkward nature

Shined through on that dirt street

Our friendship blossomed on that street

Our love blossomed on that street

Our lives changed on that street

My life changed on that street

If the streets would talk

What could they remind me?

What can they make me remember?

What can they tell me?

Now that I\'m strolling across this street alone

Without you there

Would the streets tell me

Would it remind me of the great times we had

Or will this street just be a closed off

Chapter of my childhood

I\'ll learn to forget
