Quod arcanum mulier

Untitled

We met when we were young

New to loss and pain

We stole away in poetry

Our tears - eternal ink

Gravestones kept our fears at bay

So we hid our truths

Under the soil - left to toil

With earthworms and wild roots

Our keen eyes swept the skies

For ravens - our signal

For our demise

Our remorse called out in the night

It\'s sound traveled across the land

It\'s echo pulled at our minds

Like a weeping child

We bowed our heads due to sweet agony

Which claimed our shoulders

To rest its claws upon

And grapple with our flesh

To tear it open and let the blood spill out

And dampen our clothing

With its red colour

That tasted of decay and weakness

It steals our eyes

And clutches them it its sharpened talons

Saved by bitter regret and blindness

We soldier on with feet worn rough

With perseverance we persist

And onward we pursue.
