Embers
Is what I feel deep in my heart
the love I pledged so long ago
the promise we will never part
said with joy and face aglow
or is the fire slowly dying
losing its ferociousness and heat
the soul resigned to silent crying
shuffling down a lonely street
now, remnant embers faintly glow
memories of fire fierce and hot
retaining heat to let me know
you still are all I ever sought
I hear her Smile
I heard her radiant
smile
floating across the dark
tasted her earnest
words
sweetly on my lips
felt her body
move
deep inside mine
saw her sweet
scent
in swirling color
love
a fabulous bouquet of senses
