Jairus, a ruler of synagogue, he

Besought Jesus greatly, said, Come, see

My little daughter she lay, point of death

Not long before she draws final breath

 

But come, I pray you, and lay hands on her

That she may be healed, unto life stir

So shall she live, Jesus and the crowd they

Went off to Jairus\' house that day

 

When they arrived, oen said, Woe, your daughter

Is dead, why trouble Jesus further?

But Jesus said to Jairus, Not fear now

Only believe, though sadly you bow

 

He said to mourners, Damsel is sleeping

They laughed Him to scorn in their weeping

But He from the house did put them all out

Time to remove unbelief and doubt

 

Jesus, Peter, James, John, father, mother

Went into damsel\'s room, none other

Jesus took her by the hand, and did say

\'Talitha cumi\', and there did pray

 

He did say, \'Damsel, little girl, arise\'

She arose, walked, marvels and surprise

They did witness, for she was twelve years old

With great astonishment they behold
