Out on the road today
I saw another driver waiting
To pull out of a side street
So, I slowed down while waving
He smiled back at me
With a thumbs up said, “Thank you”
I smiled back at him
Gave him a thumbs up too
Walking into Dunkin Donuts
I said hello to an elderly man
He tripped and fell to the ground
I helped him back up to stand
It might be a stranger
Someone you’ve never met
Smile with a cheerful hello
See the returned smile you get
When you see a lady
Needing a helping hand
Give of yourself
With a smile she’ll understand
Of everything we do
If we did it with a smile
And just a touch of love
We’d watch it spread across the miles
At sight of a sad face
Breath in, then exhale
Turn that frown upside down
Lets try to tip the scale
If we could embrace the world as one
Corrupt global sadness
Turn it around for everyone
Instill global gladness
Notice if you will
When you go out today
A little kindness
Goes a long way
