Back to yesterday
When trees weren’t so tall
When I was just a boy
At play with bat and ball
Back in simpler times
When doors needed no locks
And at pond’s side
Watching skipping rocks
My, how the days passed by
Slow paced under summer sun
Twinkling stars that call my name
Might I be the only one?
My mind
Like pages in a book
Memories upon every page
Within my heart I look
If I could go back
Just to touch those memories
Refresh in my mind
Treasured old stories
They say living in the past
Is not the place to be
But were you to look
That’s where you’d find me
Memories of love
A feeling oh so new
Barely old enough
But how it held me true
For I hadn’t known
How with Cupid I’d make a pact
Memories in time
Take me back
