Tune: Langran
(\'Here, O my Lord, I see thee face to face\')
Psalm 142
***********
I cried unto the LORD, with my voice, I
Made my prayer unto Him, LORD, hear my cry
I told Him my troubles and my complaint
Overwhelmed was I, my spirit did faint
But then you knew my path, though in the way
Wherein I went they set snares in that day
I looked around, but no one would me aid
My refuge failed, no one cared, I afraid
I called to you, LORD, said, You my refuge
Be, and my portion, grant me strength, courage
In land of the living tend to my cry
For I am brought very low, but you nigh
Save me from my persecutors, they are
Stronger than I, and seek my way to bar
Bring my soul out of prison, that I may
Praise your name, and you are good I shall say
The righteous shall surround me, comforts share
You shall help me, not give more than can bear
You shall with me deal bountifully, so
You come to my help, all peoples shall know
