Love

This love as a theme – I want so much more;

Just give it a break, I find it a bore.

But it’s love, love, love:  ‘all you need is love.’

Love is an abstraction – leave out the dove

 With all that cooing. Turn outward and view

All life with some truth; truth with some sinew.

Love is intangible, one of many

Emotions we experience; any

Attempts to define them must surely fail –

Descriptions are futile; let’s have a tale.

I know the love I feel, you know yours too;

Please keep it that way and give life it’s due.

Let’s experience all life’s offerings

And then give voice to its complex dealings;

Seek for resolution of injustice

From Government thriving on malpractice,

And become impatient with double talk –

Political statements which make us baulk.

Find fun and humour wherever we can;

Life can be funny although I’m no fan

Of observations which degrade others.

So let’s be certain here no one suffers.

We can’t just wish for more love in the world;

Find out why then get our protest unfurled.
