Saxon Crow

Unbreakable

Up with the dawn she\'s awake yet again
Preparing herself for the day ahead
The kids, still asleep she enjoys the feeling of quiet
She treasures the library moment wrapped up in soft cotton wool
Until it\'s time to blend dreams and reality
She washes herself and puts on her face
Make up hiding the lines around her eyes
She prepares the food in the well used kitchen
An organised mess any mechanic would be proud of
Then once more into the breach she goes
Deep breath in and
\"Time to get up!\" is her battle cry
\"Breakfasts ready\".
The pounding of feet can be heard from above
Like the sound of war drums before the advance
Then in come her precious yapping hyenas
Straight to the table, the breakfast devoured
\"Wash your face. Comb your hair. Clean your teeth. Your homework is where?!
We\'re going to be late! It\'s time to go.  Please don\'t fight. Why are you always  so slow?!\"
And so the mantra goes on and on
A tuneless melody well versed in pros
Then finally in the car off they set
To a different jungle in this big wide world
The pack then dropped off to learn God knows what
She is treated to another moment of blissful solitude
Then off to another school to teach a different menagerie.

And i would love to know how she does it day in day out?
Kids, job, home, a life to carve out.
To me she encapsulates lioness, so strong and so proud
I could never be as full of perseverance or so calm
I bet God, if there is a God, watches on in awe and fear.
Because this woman, this mother, is
Relentlessly unbreakable and forever giving in a world full of take
