Our planet Earth
Once full of clean fresh air
Oxygen unseen by the eye
But of smog now a city stares
Global warming a real threat
As polar ice caps melt
And sea levels begin to rise
The effect on coastlines is felt
A hole in the Ozone Layer
Our humanity escaping through
For goodness’s sake
What will we do?
Carbon dioxide rising
At an alarming rate
No need to be a scientist
To see our future’s fate
The one species responsible
Is the one with the cure
If they care enough
Their future to secure
No time to waste
The time to act is now
If not, the end our new future
It’s just a matter of how
What’s really sad
As innocent species dies
Because of man’s ignorance
Mother Nature cries
