Moonlight On The Ocean

Moonlight on the Ocean

Why is it so quiet?

Even the sea is hushed

Under its silken robe

No gull cries

No foam stirs

Even the drunks

Have taken to sleep

Milky moonlight

Draped across a turbulent sea

Resting for once

Taking a breath

Looking off my balcony

And hoping for peace

But it’s temporary

The moonlight on the ocean
