All through the history of man
Confrontations would arise
Cavemen with clubs
And fierce warnings in their eyes
Modern man so far from
His barbaric ancestor
And yet has he to learn
To tame his wild temper
That his anger
Should feed on itself
And fear is power he craves
In his new found wealth
Over thousands of years
Weapons in the hands of man
Warriors eager to kill
Blood spills where they stand
A powder that burns
In quantity it explodes
Bullets propelled
When in the barrel it loads
The right to bear arms
A law as old as the hills
Don’t argue with the trigger
No matter of the life it kills
Why then
In this day and age
Must man need weapons
The tools of his rage
By now modern man
Should know the value of peace
With respect for all life
For all wars to cease
All too often
Someone dies from a bullet
We could make laws to protect life
But will it?
It would seem that
He who worships the trigger
Spreads this infectious disease
Morally, it just doesn’t figure
Who are we to bring end to
Mother Nature\'s serenity?
The lifeforce to planet Earth
Where is our humanity?
