Saxon Crow

Be Like Fox

\'You can\'t have it all!\'
Said wise wind to the rain
While flower sat in envy
shadowed by willows long mane
And the grass from the field
Saw the grass down the lane
And wished it were greener
Rather than yellow and plain
Rabbit watched hare who was so quick and so strong
Yearning for ears so sturdy and long
While old Mrs hedgehog snuffled about
Full of jealousy when bold badger was out
The harvest mice admired cruel kestrels still shadow
But fox just kept sauntering
As if nothing else mattered
Ladybird was grumbling and all in a whirl
He was fed up with people thinking there were only ladybird girls
While tiny wee ant had troubles of his own
He had to work hard just to please her on the thrown.
And so it goes on in its own secret way
It\'s not just us with worries and concerns through the day.
All of the world yearns to be something better
And will waste a whole lifetime lamenting the matter
But it doesn\'t mean its fulfilling or a dream come true
It just means that all of us can be enviable fools
