A Balanced Table

With shopping list in hand

I’ll go to the store

Like anyone else

I’ll look for bargains galore

No one likes to lose

To give money away

But for great service rendered

“A tip for you” I’ll say

Some may call it

Leaving money on the table

But in my book

I call it a balanced table

As these days hard workers

Are hard to come by

Always earning their paycheck

‘Cause it’s their job, the only reason why

They come in early

If needed they stay late

They say, “The job is a priority”

“My personal plans can wait”

To take pride in your work

Deserves something more

And its not about the money

Why they walk through that door

Being a team player

Goes beyond selfless

But for the good of all

An act of wellness

Earned respect

A proudly worn label

Credit given where credit is due

A balanced table
