I\'d hate to leave this be.
You\'d be a dear
to spare of what you will
because I am hard of hearing.
Care to lend me a choice
in the matter of hearing or not?
I wish I had what I needed, a strong voice
that probed me into not thinking I\'m a robot.
I want to think everything is alright
And that I can force myself to hear, but I can\'t.
I don\'t need your sympathy, your guilt
because this is the real me, for sure.
This is just the way I was built
and, sadly, there is no cure.
I am hard of hearing, and I want to be accepted.
I am trying so hard to be me, and I am proud.
