The Beauty Of A Dream

It’s 10:30 in the afternoon,

I’m curled up tight, into a cocoon,

Thoughts swarming my brain,

Reliving my worst moments again!

Soon enough my eyes shut tight,

And my consciousness takes flight!

O! The feelings I feel!

Is it possible for it all to be real?

One moment I’m boxing a bear!

The next, both me and a woman share!

Although it’s rainy and dark,

Together we’re running through the park!

Once we’ve ran and danced in the rain,

We stop, and where we stand we remain,

I’m holding her tight, and staring into her eyes

When I go to speak my mouth ties!

All I can do is smile!

Which seems to stretch over a mile!

She looks me deep into my eyes, and whispers, “I love you!”

There is no way this could all be true!

I’m a mess, a mixture of laughter and tears!

Life is perfect, or so it appears,

Suddenly, everything shifts, and I’m back in my bed,

Realization strikes me, it was all in my head!

The only thing that remains, is the mess that I am,

Soon enough, out of bed I scram,

I’m ready and motivated to get an early start on my day!

”I’ve got to find her, I’ve just got to!” I say!
