Fire up the engines and lock all the doors,
Stop all the spending and close all the stores.
Round up the troops they say and pack away their bags,
Leave the cities in groups today and burn all the flags.
Ignore the cries of children, leave them be they all insist,
Close your eyes and hold your ears, pretend they don’t exist.
Switch off the TVs, scratch out the photographs,
Shun the locals pleas they say and launch the aircrafts.
Let the cities crumble, the towns built on the sand,
Leave those far more humble to die on their own land.
Still fly the Stars and Stripes they say, and hold your heads up high,
and leave those less then you behind, alone and left to die.
