A lovely dove came and rested
Upon my shoulder it tested
Suitability of its perch
Just as stable as a fine birch
A few inquisitive glances
It calculated its chances
It didn\'t take too long to search
The dove felt at ease as it perched
Cautiously I smiled discreetly
Feeling my heart beat so sweetly
Wings fluttering as it did perch
Beside me, no longer in search
A lovely dove came and rested
Just as stable as a fine birch

Slowly and carefully I exhaled
and rather gently I inhaled
built up a rhythm deep within
so as not to startle it, I grinned
lest it flew up and away
resolved, the cautious dove did stay
Inching closer to my warm skin
I could feel it flutter within
Giddy perhaps, oh what a joy
To feel it next to me , oh boy
Inching closer to me I grinned
Oh what a sweet spell I was in
Slowly and carefully I exhaled
As not to startle it, I grinned
