\"Excuse me sir, some change to spare?\"
Ignored as if he was not there.
The sleeping bag, the concrete bed,
both man and dog look under fed.
The outstretched hand, the empty can,
the hollow stare, the broken man.
Looked straight through, forgotten class,
who\'s left to sleep under the stars.
Hard working man, he once loved life,
Strived to provide for kids and wife.
Tough times hit, the mortgage cost,
payments missed, his job then lost.
Returned one day, an empty home,
no wife, no kids, left all alone.
A broken ship, he starts to sink,
a downward trip, he hits the drink.
His spirit broke, house repossesed,
a once happy bloke, now drink obsessed.
A bag of clothes and special brew,
are all he has to see him through.
As rain and cold and snow will hit,
too many people left out in it.
So let\'s not judge, when we walk by
the once happy man left out to die.
