Accidental Poet

Silhouette of Love

My dearest Sharon

In your deepest thoughts

Perhaps you remember me

The boy with love you taught

That was me hiding

In the shadows of your youth

Until I learned you’d be leaving

And I confessed to you my truth

Please forgive me love

For being so shy

Didn’t know how to say

I love you, but I had to try

I took a chance

Out on that limb

But I had to tell you

Or live my life regretting

Out from the silhouette

Into the light

My identity revealed

For you to see me right

I hope you knowing

The love for you I speak of

Not of guilt, but of pride

My silhouette of love
