One thought was his focus,
No evidence must be found,
No trace, not a vestige
Must be seen upon the ground.
Forensics would be baffled,
Nothing would remain;
No fragment, no tiny crumb at all,
Not a single, solitary stain.
So, when daylight came
And sparrows announced the dawn
He knew his secret was secure,
No path was seen well-worn.
No trail of chocolate wrappers
Strewn upon the floor;
No flakes of brown were left
Below the pantry door.
He heaved a sigh of relief,
Happy that he’d left no trace.
But, mum simply looked at him and saw
He\'d forgotten to wash his face!
