It is morning
And I am hiding under cover
Veiled from the light
Trying to remain in slumber
Focusing on dreams
Let the day fade away
For rest is the only business
That I long to sustain
Peace beyond measure
Joy that’s all resounding
Eyes wide shut
Picturesque and stunning
Head up on the pillow
Ease of shallow breaths
Relaxing my whole being
As I dwell with no regrets
Taking the easy route
Twenty-four seven
The path of least resistance
Peace as my obsession
Feel free to criticize
Strive in your own aggression
As for me, in my bed
Well, I remain in heaven
Sunk into the mattress
Such a sweet embrace
No pressures are amounting
Fear without a trace
Comfort at a maximum
Lounging like a king
You’d be surprised, just laying here
How much joy it brings
Sure I could get up
Put in an act to be productive
But who am I to believe the lie
That efforts are seductive
And who am I but just a guy
Caught in the ease of sleep
Sure, the day is almost over
But there are seven in a week
I’m ignoring propaganda
I’m staying in this bed
Religion says to strive
While only ever being dead
While I’m alive and well
Found comfort in the solitude
Chaos all around me
But not a thing that I’ll pursue
You can riot in the streets
I’m still in a steady peace
Casting cares and worries
And embracing my relief
What are you a thief
Trying to awake me
No hope in your endeavors
I’d rather the world forsake me
For I’m living my dreams
Merging with reality
Completed in my ease
This is immortality
Sweet sweet sleep
Shades over the window
Effortless you see me
Head upon this pillow
