Jeff Andrew

Like any other night

Children whisper from the trees

And the ceiling calls my name

but it\'s just another night

everything\'s just the same

You can\'t touch the night

You don\'t taste its breath

It\'s just a place where light

has fallen back

like any other night.

I will not turn to claim what\'s owed

close my eyes and find the road

can\'t be a lie if it\'s not told

(can you hold me tonight?)

I\'m the Sun-God, baby

I\'m a dead dog, maybe

maybe I got room

to change.

I ask for things that can\'t be shown

utter a prayer in a tongue of stone

vex Israel and am made to roam

l\'ll find a cool small patch of loam

to hold me tonight.

Like any other night.
