1) Seems at the age of eight
2) A young girl didn’t know what to anticipate
3) Young and proud, little but loud
4) And didn’t know how to communicate
5) The little girl had a red balloon
6) With it, she would sing a little tune
7) Oblivious to the sights she would see
8) Ignorant to the issues on the streets
9) She didn’t know right from wrong
10) Just that she knew her favorite song
11) A song she’d sing with all her might
12) Crossing the road under the moon\'s lit night.
13) Making it to the other side
14) What she saw next made her cry
15) She didn’t know this feeling of dread
16) After seeing that this cat is dead
17) With all this dread she dropped the red balloon
18) It bounced right up with a bobble or two
19) But it bounced too high, too high to reach
20) She tried but couldn’t do anything about it’s release
21) She stared at that balloon with her hand raised to catch
22) But then something blared with a screeching snap
23) A car spinning out of control like a bowl turning on a floor
24) It broke a tree branch and almost took her soul
25) She moved away just in time
26) This is where she saw things in a different light;
27) When she looked around she saw different colors,
28) Things that made sound, people bothering others
29) Where was all this before?
30) All these excitements and fears
31) All these worries and cheers
32) She wants to see more, to touch this or that
33) She wants to see everything, even the cat
34) The little girl forgot the red balloon
35) As it flew away, not being able to stay
36) It watched the little girl, look at the world
37) And saw that she had been freed.
