James Alexander

Clouds

Ever changing colors

From dark to light

The sky is the canvas

From dim to bright.

The sun is the palette

The wind the brush

Water, the medium

For clouds a must.

Thin sheets of white

To pillowy forms

Dark rolling masses

Harbinger of storms.

From reds to blues

Oranges and greys

Yellows and greens

Dull to white blaze.

Green shaded Nimbus

Both dark and grey

Bringing the rain

To spoil the day.

Translucent Cirrus

Up high in the air

Wispy and feathery

like a lock of hair.

Fleecy Cumulus our

Fair weather friend

Ever changing shapes

For us to pretend.

Low level Stratus

That covers the sky

Semi-transparent

a sheet far and nigh.

The colours and shapes

In the sky we see

are Nature\'s treasures

You must agree.
