Saxon Crow

I went for a drink with an Irishman

I went for a drink with an Irish man
And I can safely say
I survived with barely a scratch
Though my head has a price to pay
The drink I drank in large amounts
Is quite alien to me you see
Cos I\'d get drunk on a sip of wine
Or the strongest cup of tea
I went for a drink with an Irishman
And the stories that I can tell
Are all because he likes to talk
About his life on the emerald isle
I\'d like to think he became my friend
With the way he was cheery and warm
He told me about his family
And how he loves his home
And then after a while we drank some more
Until the innkeeper kicked us out
Sadly we didn\'t sing as we walked
But we laughed a lot out loud
I went for a drink with an Irish man
And I can safely say
I\'m looking forward to another time
And who knows this time.....
He might pay.
