In a town by the ocean
A young lady stayed
She dreamed of places far away
But he told her to lay
Her head down
And reverse her frown
He gave her his crown
Told her to stop thinking
And just begin sleeping
And when she awoke
He was gone to the sea
Left her a lighthouse
On a cliff so lonely
Her only friend
Was the cat that
ate the stray mouse
She shined her light
She stayed true in the night
She slept without fright
And then one day
He came to stay
Old he was
But his heart still beat bold
And her hand he would hold
Until they passed away
Together in a town
By the ocean
Without a sound
