Summer\'s song

The sun\'s angry glare,
Makes me declare,
Find somewhere less hot,
Shelter is quickly sought.
People scramble in the heat,
I hear the slapping of sandaled feet.
Sweat runs down my back,
Could really use an ice pack.
Animals laze in the shade,
Waiting for the sun to fade.
At night, the sun will sleep,
But the warmth will keep.
Even on this patio,
Humidity makes a cameo.
Look to the stars that shine,
This night, warm and divine,
I sit and drink a beer,
For tomorrow\'s heat I fear.
Rather a summer so warm,
Than an icy winter storm.
