Tune: Golden Sheaves
(\'To thee, O Lord, our hearts we raise\')
Psalm 106 v.43-48
*********
Of old, the LORD, at many times
Thorughout life\'s stages and rhymes
Did save His people, but they sure
Provoked Him, treated Him poor
With their deeds they di from Him turn
And from His words did not learn
They for their sins were brought down low
Was their own cause, they did know
Nevertheless He regarded
Their affliction, and instead
He left them not, but heard their cry
They called for Him to come nigh
To save them out of their distress
That He would again them bless
And for them He did remember
His covenant, grace confer
He relented from punishing
Them, and mercy did them bring
He made them to be pitied by
Their captors, none did deny
Save us, O LORD our God, and do
Gather us from nations too
To give thanks to your holy name
It everlasting the same
And we shall triumph in your praise
Your wondrous doings upraise
Blessed be you, you our LORD God too
Of Israel, you us view
From everlasting and unto
Everlasting you be true
Let all the people say, Amen
For ever it shall be then
