Alaska’s sun is gentle
He is quiet, shy
He may gaze upon your skin once in a while
Still he will avoid you for months
I’ve known Arizona’s sun to feel like an eye
Burning a fiery stare into me
North Carolina’s sun is welcoming
but oppressive the longer you stay
Out of all the suns ive known however,
You’ve been the brightest
You were an alluring sunset at first
Always bringing light into my life
nevertheless I was blinded by your beauty
You left all the same, I don’t know what transpired
suns aren’t supposed to burnout
Yet you did and it’s dark now
and I’ve learned to love the moon more than you
For the moon is glowing from being touched by you
but she is her own and she may always follow you but she’ll always keep her distance and be her own
