John writes commandment old
To us it be told
Yet Jesus did say too
Did command renew
To love God, each other
Each sister, brother
So command old and new
Spoken unto you
Because darkness is past
Shall not ever last
The true light does now shine
Light of heaven divine
They that say they are in
The light, they do sin
If they hate their fellow
Humans, this do know
Such are in the darkness
E\'en now, we confess
They that love their fellow
Humans, we can know
Such abide in the light
Not people of night
They live unoffensive
Helping others live
But they that live hating
Troubles do they bring
Live in darkness, they know
Not the way they go
The darkness has blinded
Them, they do not find
Jesus, light of the world
Now His love unfurled
