You look at me like I don\'t belong
but me and you are not so different.
We\'re both asking for the same thing
change.
-
Tears come down rushing on my face
everytime I think about the past
small town kid with a bright future
with hopes of becoming a College graduate
dreams of perhaps being a track star.
It\'s been 20 years spent without a home
20 years since since I lost hope.
You look at me like I don\'t exist
as if I have no shame nor honor
well let me tell you that you are wrong.
What if I told you that I\'m full of guilt
each time that that I ask for a couple cents
I\'ve been an outcast my whole life
sitting at the back of the class
with no friends.
In a hurry to become an adult
perhaps like every other kid
but I never wanted to end up in this way.
You look at me like I am dead
as if I was already six feet deep
but I\'m aware that my story will one day come to an end
which is why I don\'t want to die in this state.
Every living being on this earth is a slave
and mankind was created weak
but it\'s time to hold myself accountable
for every act and decision made along the way.
Because I was bestowed with the power of free will
and the capacity to manifest a hopeful thought
into reality.
