Breathe Deep

Empty glasses

Two chairs
One table
No sound - no words
Just dust
That once was
Part of a person
Who passed this way.
A waiter pauses,
Wipes away the life
That sat here
That once watched
And who too waited-
Then thought and wrote.
All now past tense.
Breathe now...
Breathe deep.
Catch the butterfly syllables
While you can
And drink in

What another let loose
Into this fragile space.
