Devil on my shoulder, but she ain\'t much company

I got this devil on my shoulder

But she ain\'t much company

I\'m tired of her fickle heart

And the need to make mine bleed

Ain\'t never been much use

In writing songs of Sobriety

But man I gotta scribble these blues

Cos this devil\'s killing me

Now I could hit the bottle

Am to Pm friend

But I found out the hard way

It\'s all just future piss in the end

I thought I was a rebel

In a world now made for rules

But I found out the hard way

Nobody was buying my \"truth\"

I don\'t need nobody

That doesn\'t accept me for me

No I dont need their loving

Oh the truth I thought I preached

I just didn\'t want their judgment

To pierce through my self deciet

Knock the wind out of my sales

And send me down into the deep

So here I sit devil on shoulder

Still not much company

I make it time for the \"boring life\"

At least I\'ll be around to meet

Like minded fools

Who tell tall tales

Of the times they used to drink

Of where they finally laid they\'re devil down

in the cold hard ground to sleep.
