A Fading Star

Like the sun foreshadowing a terror

With every shot from its coronal loops

I too get uneasy when I’m bitter

Like Venus, planet of love and

Abundant light

I too can be showy – but obviously tawdry

Like the moon who’s only doing is to

Circuit through a course with no end

I too am used.

But the only one who I am ever truly reminiscent of

Is a fading star

With its growth from the nursery (stellar nebula)

to zenith (a star)

It is at its peak

But when the fuel of life begins to seep – BOOM! (Planetary nebula)

It is only as vigorous as it was when it

wasn’t even born

lifeless – I too.
