Lord, now let your servant depart in peace
You have shown him your mercies, they ne\'er cease
So said Simeon in the Temple there
Prophecy with Mary, Joseph, did share
It was according to the Lord\'s word, he
Promised Simeon before he died, see
He would the Lord\'s Christ, presented, young babe
This favour the Lord unto him He gave
For he said, My eyes have the salvation
Seen, which you have prepared for each nation
A light to lighten the Gentiles, non-Jews
[The] Glory of Jews, people you first did choose
Mary and Joseph marvelled at those words
Of their Christ-child, the message they had heard
And Anna too, a prophetess was there
She gave thanks, and of redemption did share
