The morning sun I greeted with delight
While rushing to admire a wondrous sight
The shining petals of a lonely bloom
That dazzled in the breeze but faded soon
Standing spellbound I gazed and smiled
As that celestial blue my heart beguiled
The sun rays grazed the petals with a kiss
Their beauty was for me celestial bliss
The brilliant colors soon began to fade
As heat their living force did dissipate
It bowed its head as if was heaven bound
Slowly stretched its stem over the ground
Watching the wilted head lying at rest
I had the urge to know what was its quest,
“Oh flower, that my soul you now beguile
Greeting the morning sun with radiant smile
Of your short life what is the true intent?
To live so briefly why are you content?”
“My friend,” the flower whispered with a sigh
“I am happy and I am going to tell you why
The secret of my life I will explain
Worrying about time is all in vain
A moment is a century for me
For beauty, an instant is eternity”
