I.O.L.A.

(Island Of Little America)

Oh, to the land of Saints, Scholars, Poets and culture of lore,

That land where the faerie and leprechaun are the tale of yore,

Youth educated in modern ways, the old ways are no more,

A nation having struggled for centuries their culture to retain,

Is losing it to identify with a republic across the western main.

To be from a land so green, that always had its sway,

But modern-day citizens quickly identify with the U.S.A.

The leaders and heroes of her past are turning in their grave,

To see her children influenced by that land across the wave.

Take heed, use only the best from the West and feed not that crave.
