Although, I don’t live here

I would like to make a complaint,

about your current occupier,

another master on how to restraint,

where he has truly learned,

to recycle certain errors,

via Stalin’s iron curtain,

and Ivan’s reign of terror.

With these “wisdoms” whirring,

he continues to attack,

by poisons and by guns,

just put them all in the sack,

“let’s bring back an empire”,

he says, to author more pain,

he says “I won’t”, but he’s on his way,

to the shivering Ukraine.

His macho-man wry smile,

makes him a poster child,

endured by the modern man,

that makes the world go wild,

apparently, he’s “the best”,

that Russia has got,

there are too many like him,

who use their power, to rot.

I’ve seen the photos,

him shirtless, on horseback,

oozing all the qualities,

of a guy, who only smacks,

where no arguments exist,

it has to be his way,

even if that means,

no one sees another day.

I’m not rooting for Putin,

all he wants to do is kill,

until he has his members club,

that will swallow down his pill,

it’s this, that despairs me,

I need to know, if he’s sorry,

if not, then those voted in,

will always give birth to worry.

You used to house the Greats,

where did it all go wrong?

Perhaps, it’s when “you” said

“Shostakovich, you can’t play that song!”

Surely, enough is enough,

it’s time to get it right,

not just for you, but for all of us,

let’s turn the dark; in to the bright.
