Regret

Life bestowed on us is fleeting
numbered days the pulse be beating
Illusive dreams fade, the curtain draws
no bow taken, no applause
Left alone within a vacuum
No hurt left, the still repose
Only sorrow for the losses
Love forsaken, soul morose
In my mind I see her smile
Her soft wave a breeze in time
Tho my heart now full of wanting
Her whisper says, you’ll not be mine
