Laughter

In chuckle or roar,
Laughter seems to soar.
From lintel to doorpost,
It is a sound I love most.
It begets from cheer,
Though it may bring a tear,
Its music is always welcome here.

Woe to those who laugh untrue,
For they shant enjoy it through and through.
The conscious laugh is but a husk,
An empty shell, and clouded dusk.
So laugh! Laugh to your heart\'s content!
Laugh until your days are spent!
Laugh, and live, in each precious moment.

Blest are you with a fool\'s grace?
Bring you a smile from face to face?
Can you trip, fall, and stumble?
With comical flair remain humble?
To lend a laugh to another\'s day,
Is an honorable quest I say,
To cause their fears to fly away.

So the day that laughter fills the sky,
No more to sleep, no more to lie,
We\'ll laugh together,
You and I
