Psalm 90 (A Paraphrase)

i.

Lord, you have been our dwelling place, a rock and refuge sure;

Before the mountains were brought forth, you, everlasting, were.

ii.

A thousand years for you goes as a day that’s come and gone;

And still another thousand fly before the rising sun.

iii.

But, we, O Lord, who live below are like the grassy blades;

We grow and flourish in the day and die with evening’s shades.

iv.

So brief our time!  O, teach us then the number of our days

So that our hearts we may apply to wisdom and your ways.

v.

Your mercy and your beauty, Lord, upon us now bestow;

Our days then, that with tears were full, with joy shall overflow.
