Heart Rain

Tonight the rain imitates my eyes

A chorus of tears falls

As if Heaven and her angels

Weep for me when you broke my heart

I never imagined your love

Suddenly reversing direction

As the love of others

Could take your attention away from me.

Tonight the songs of the world

Turn sad as dying flowers

Slowly descends beneath

A sea of sorrow for a love gone

A façade of false affections

Ghosts of run away children you lost

Departs and becomes our undoing

Turning us into a doomed romance.

Tonight an angel folds her wings

And a lone melancholy voice

Accompanies me away from you

For you have rejected me

I who once wrapped you in light

Lifting you above in blue sky

Must cry when no one is watching

And little by little let you go.
