From a distant past
Comes a face so dear
My heart’s treasured memory
So long ago since she was near
But like yesterday it seems
Those memories fill my mind
Her eyes so bright
Her smile so kind
And there was I
Just a young boy in love
Lost in admiration
Yearning favors of stars above
First love
Tender and true
A bid to pass the test of time
Successful by so few
And yet, here she is
Within the fortress of my heart
Where she’s been all these years
From a long ago start
Love need not always be
That of a two-way street
Not for a love such as this
A love to forever keep
To my awaited grave
With all these memories I’ll go
Each and every one
My love for her will show
